soundtrack ♥

As we all know, music is a huge part of a film. Once you see a movie with great music, it's hard not think of the scenes which accompany the songs when you hear them. Example- and this is an obvious one, when you hear Stayin' Alive, you think of John Travolta in his white suit doing the hustle. Right? Well, the other day in the car I heard Lookin' Out My Backdoor by CCR and this scene immediately came to mind. It brought a huge smile to my face, as it always does, so I thought a post about soundtracks would be fun. Here are 5 of my faves, in no particular order-

From Bob Dylan to Captain Beefheart, this soundtrack rules!

I don't think words are necessary here! This is one of best!

"One word...Plastics"

I'm sure I'm not alone on this one.
I know, another Cohen Brothers film...but it's a winner from start to finish.

Ok, so there are some of my faves... now you tell me some of yours!

p.s.-I could have added many more, but I'll leave some for another post :D

  5. oooh, i love these that you've chosen. some directors (or music choosers?) are so genius at putting scenes or shots to music like the coen bros and wes anderson. some soundtracks i've loved over the years in various phases are: Niagara Niagara, Jesus' Son, Man from Snowy River, Practical Magic, Buena Vista Social Club, and Hideous Kinky. ooooh, now i want to go listen to some of these!

  7. There are some good choices here! I would add the Garden State soundtrack to the list, though I haven't quite recovered from over listening to it years ago, I would imagine that at some point it will hold a pretty strong nostalgic pull for me.

The Stealing Beauty soundtrack will always be a favorite of mine. I can remember listening to it over and over on cassette back in the 90's :)
