Outfit post?

Earlier this week I stopped by a new thrift store in the area. I was feeling like it had a gem waiting for me and I was right! I found this beautiful vintage gauze dress in mint condition. It's a dream dress for sure! It has long sleeves which make it a bit hot for summer but I couldn't resist wearing it anyway.

I was out at the golden hour while Marianne had some pictures taken of her in some handmade bonnets and figured I might as well get a few pictures of myself in the dress.

I had to get pictures of Maggie and Alex as well. Alex takes all the pictures of me for my blog. She is a huge help to me in so many ways!

Just some fun inspiration photos. I guess I'm feelin' the stripes, straw hats and that summery vibe. As I'm looking at these, I'm reminding myself that it's only January. Summer is a long ways off, right? That's ok, there's nothing wrong with looking forward to it.

I also wanted to say thanks for all the wonderful comments lately. I really never thought blogging would be this much fun or that I would meet such nice, interesting, creative people. Reading all your blogs has been so inspiring to me and I just wanted to let you know how fantastic I think you all are :)

Thrifted Esprit Dress

You know how it is when you see a dress and just know it's going to be perfect? Well, that's exactly how I felt when I laid eyes on this baby yesterday. It's the perfect plain dress that can be worn so many different ways. Here are a few of my ideas for it-

The Stranger in the Glass Box

I was at South Coast Plaza today, walking around, when what to my wondering eyes should appear? This series of photos by Quentin Shih for Christian Dior! It's the first time they've been shown in the U.S. I have to say though, they were much more impressive in person. Looking at them on a computer screen does not due them justice. You can't see all the details. For instance, everyone (except the models) has over-exaggerated rosy cheeks and great expressions on their faces. I loved it! And of course, the clothing is exceptionally beautiful. Maybe on his website you can zoom in, if you so desire. Anyway, I thought they were really amazing and wanted to share them with you. Hope you enjoy :)

Little Blouse On The Prairie

I love my new blouse! Not so sure though how I feel about that picture. I'm lookin' pretty serious. Oh well, it's staying. Anyway, back to the blouse, I got it a couple weeks ago for $2.50! I was stoked. It has that prairie feel to it, that I just can't seem to get enough of lately. The boots are Coach and I got them a couple of years ago at Marshall's for $60. Dang! It's deal city folks!

The Graduate

Every fall, I for some reason, begin to think of Katherine Ross (in The Graduate). Not only was she beautiful, she had great style. And that's how I'd like to look, as the weather finally starts to cool off- turtle necks, boots, cute jackets. Oh, will that day ever come? When it's 100 degrees outside, it's hard to believe it will.

The Graduate is always a source of inspiration for me. From the clothes to the music, it's sheer perfection. It's always been one of my favorite movies and , I think, always will be. Here is a great clip from the movie. Enjoy!

P.S. How awesome is that first photo! Don't worry, I have not forgotten how much Anne Bancroft rules! I equally love her in the movie. Did you know she was only 6 years older than Dustin Hoffman in the movie? Crazy huh!

Some fun inspiration for fall, from Free People. The weather here seems to be playing tricks on me. One day is a little cooler with an autum breeze, then the next day is super hot again. Doesn't it know we all want to wear tights!
