As I've mentioned before, we live right next to a nature preserve. I drive past it numerous times a day as I drop off and pick up the kids from school, run errands...basically any time I leave home. I always keep a sharp eye out for any birds or animals that may be around. Early Friday morning as I was driving in I noticed a large bird perched in a tree. I quick went home to get my camera and raced back to get some pictures.

When I was driving by I thought it might be a Golden Eagle because of it's size but after I looked through my camera I saw that it was a Red-tailed Hawk.

I sat there for several minutes watching.

And then it was off!

What fascinating creatures!

Awesome images. I have a hawk story I've been meaning to tell you girls <3 I never get got shots of birds, even though there's eagles galore all over the place here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love hawks, we used to have them land of our balcony of our 15th floor apartment (there was a nest on a factory next door). Totally thrilling :)
