Little Flower

“Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love.”

Today is St. Therese's feast day and more than ever do I need to take to heart her infinite wisdom. Above is my relic and my icon which was blessed by Pope Saint John Paul II. I believe I've shared a similar picture before but I love her, so I don't feel bad for the repetitiveness.

St. Therese pray for us!

  1. I'm sick today (or still or whatever) so thanks for the perfect opportunity to reread "Story Of A Soul". I know I've told you this before, I've always loved the Saints because they are not an integral part of Finnish Lutheranism and seemed mystical and comforting. Loving these more spiritual musings.

  2. I had to look up St. Therese, read a little about her background, and now I am so interested in reading Story of a Soul. She seems like the sweetest guide. Since today is her feast day, I will meditate on her message of love. Thank you for this.

  3. When you share your faith, I feel so humbled. My Catholic upbringing did not endear me to faith, but rather the opposite, probably due to the manner in which my mother delivered it - forcefully, and with so much hell fear and guilt (she has since changed - not her faith, but her understanding of it). Despite all of that, I find comfort in fond memories of the quietness of chapel and kind nuns; I sang hymns with childish fervour, kept my own altar at home and liked to wander into church weekdays when no one else was about, to touch the feet of the statues; my own version of grace I think. What I'm trying to say is thank you for helping me remember. xo
