well folks, look like i'm pregnant again! this will make baby number five! i can't wait to snuggle a new babe but i sure wish i didn't have to go through all that pregnancy brings with it. to be honest, pregnancy is not at the top of my list of enjoyable states of being. i won't list all my complaints but i will say that my last pregnancy was very difficult and i'm seriously praying that this one will be easier. i am excited for another home birth though! this will be my third and although they are intense and very painful, they are also the most empowering event i have experienced.

i am also happy to announce that i have quit drinking coffee. i know, that's not really breaking news but i have been wanting to quit for a while and feels good to be off it. i drank about 3-4 cups a day and it was beginning to feel like a chore. like something i had to do. i suppose that's just my addictive personality but that's how it felt. there was no joy in my coffee anymore. i've been drinking herbal teas for the last month and am enjoying the lightness of it. i'm hoping i can stay off coffee for good. i have quit several times over the last 10 years and i know for a fact that i feel so much better without it.

my two oldest go back to school on monday. my son will be a freshman and my daughter will be in 6th grade! high school! now how did that happen already? actually it doesn't feel like yesterday that he was a wee fella. it feels like 14 years ago. i'm excited for him and look forward to watching him become a man. and my daughter has some very exciting events this year with her choir, they will be singing at Carnegie Hall in New York! she is beyond thrilled as you can imagine :)

shane and i will begin some simple homeschooling too. since he just turned five i decided to wait for kindergarten but i will be teaching him to read (here's the awesome book i used for my older two, i homeschooled them for 6 years) and basic math. he is really excited!

that's about it :)

ps- my adorable dress was gifted to me by the sweet teeny.

  8. oh Anne, I hear ya. Of late I've been pining a little bit for a little one to be around...probably more than usual as my youngest is fully a kid now, not a baby anymore. But pregnancy is.....well, I echo you, not my favourite state to be in. YOU LOOK GORGEOUS IN THAT DRESS! actually...from memory, you always look amazing while growing babies. xo

  10. this pic of you has been floating around in my mind's eye ever since you posted a few days ago. you look incredible, and i just want to give you my heartfelt congrats again. i started following your blog when you were preggers with marianne, and i remember then remarking to myself how radiant you were (are!)...

and yup, like teeny, it's the thought of the actual pregnancy (and early baby years) that throws cold water on my baby dreams when they pop up. i send you my best wishes and prayers for an easeful one this time.

and HOLY i can't believe your son is starting highschool!!!!!!!!! i'm glad to hear actually, that it does feel appropriate time wise. too often motherhood seems to be this thing that blazes by leaving regret in its wake. and i'm also glad to hear you are starting homeschool with shane...i still feel pretty alone in making school choices for fern, so i am heartened to know one of my sisterfriends (and maybe two with heather!) are on the journey too. ok...that'a a novel for ya! i love you and miss you!!

How wonderful for you and your family. Congratulations!! I agree with the other ladies' comments.... You look stunning.. I haven't been around very much in blogland for quite a while... but, hopefully, my computer will keep on acting right and I can be more visible in my blog space from now on...
