  1. Murals! Pelican! (You're turning into quite the bird photog!) Skeeball! Marianne! So many favorite things here, so much SoCal sun! Sigh. It's pretty grey here, though lots of bird song and I'm about to go explore some hot tubs (not geothermal-boo) and mountains and have shenanigans. Wish you were here. Actually, wish I was there.

  2. I was JUST talking about Balboa! I loved that place as a kid and it's been years since we've gone. Mike bike is out and quite rusted, but I'd love to take it down for a little ride down there.

And, I feel like that skeeball is the best, ever. For some reason :)

  7. this is amazing in soooo many ways! that pelican shot!!!! dang girl, that is simply amazing. i wonder if it is common for them to get so close to people. i want one to land on my shoulder. and then...your kids are just the cutest little chickpeas in the world. i love all of your festive colors, that whale mural and the ferris wheel (why are they the most picturesque things ever?) and you are looking so fly in those gray jeans! this whole thing just makes me smile real big and crave a trip to the carnival. i used to go to balboa as a kid and the smell of eucalyptus always reminds me of it.
