today

today was a beautiful day, so shane and i headed over to the park so he could play.

i wore a new skirt that i recently thrifted and my necklace, which i started wearing again now that shane is older and doesn't tug on everything around my neck.

i brought along some embroidery i've been working on. i bought it several months ago at an estate sale and have been slowly finishing it. a good portion of it had already been done, so i'm just finishing the leaves, some petals and other little sections. it looks as though it's from the 70's and says, "daisies won't tell". it would be super cute framed. i haven't decided if i'll keep it or perhaps sell it. either way, i enjoy having a project to work on and keepin' these hands busy.

are you working on crafts at the moment? if so, please share :D

  6. I'm supposed to be working on a quilt... I decided two years ago that I would make a double bed sized quilt entirely by hand. I think I've got about 10 squares stitched together haha... I procrastinate. That I've got my macrame necklaces to keep me busy. I used to do embroidery when I was younger, don't really know why I stopped.

  7. Love your park outfit :D That skirt is adorable and lil Shaners looks like he was enjoying the outdoor festivities with that big ol' smile :D I remember you showing me that Daisy embroidery- it's SO cute and after putting so much work into it, maybe it could go over Alex's bed or be for the new lil peanut :D

  9. You are such a serene looking Mama, and you're rocking that baby belly! Shane looks so happy to be going to the playground with you. I'm just staring my first embroidery project- yay for craftiness!

Out of curiosity, how are you doing for little girl clothes? I have a whole storage unit full of gorgeous little things that I'm going to have a sale for this summer- maybe we could do a little swap? Some little girl clothes for a few big girl things ;)

  10. I love those pictures of you and Shane, and your
necklace is beautiful! Your embroidery is very
pretty too and reminded me that Tom's mom is making us a quilt this year. She's picked some
beautiful fabric and she's so very talented,I wish I were as talented as you two. What a fun, sunny day you had. Now that our weather's so perfect, I need to get out with my boys too. Maria :)

  11. Frankly, I'm quite impressed with your embroidery skills! I made the teeniest little deer for my best friend's Christmas gift a couple of years back and it tried my patience more than anything before :)

  12. What a lovely day! I love all the pictures. So cute!

I wish I could embroider, that craft is going to look fantastic when you are done.

I'm working on a crochet dress for Jos, almost done and found I'm an inch short on one side. I'm stuck trying to figure out how to fix it without taking the whole thing apart. Ugh!

Thanks for your comment on my blog- I do not know much about herbs for pain relief in childbirth but would be glad to help you research. How were your other births? What is your plan for this one?

  15. Gorgeous sun drenched photos! Is it spring yet?
I love your skirt, and the embroidery piece is awesome. I just finished the first beaded peacock feather on that cardigan I started work on. It turned out so well that I want to do more on the back of the sweater....which is way more work, so I may just have to wear it a little while it is under construction in the meantime :)
I hope you and yours are doing well.

  16. *catching up on my blog reading* I'm usually working on necklaces, but you and a few other ladies are getting me interested in picking up some embroidery again. I used to do it when I was younger, no idea why I stopped.
