Happy New Year! I hope your 2015 is off to a nice start! Mine has been pretty rocky so far but I'm keeping my chin up and assuming that the difficult beginning is a good sign. You know, like when you've worked hard and then get a great payoff? Yeah, that kind of good sign.
When I'm not getting squished between my car and car door by some super rude lady at the post office* I've been keeping myself busy making things.
Rainbow Clay Bead Garland
Terra Cotta beads and Terra Cotta Ring Holders
Terra Cotta Wall Hanging
I needed some art for the bathroom so painted the above abstract painting. This isn't the best photo. The colors are more vibrant in person but whatever! I'm happy with how it turned out and it has piqued my interest in painting.
On to the smelling good part of this post-
Back in November I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with my friend Mary (make sure to check out her site here). When she walked up to greet me I was immediately captivated by her scent, she seriously smelled incredible! I don't like to be a copy cat with perfume but I had to make an exception on this. The next morning I ordered Dharma Bum from Sweet Tea Apothecary and I've never been more excited for a package arrive as I was for my perfume. It came and now I smell as good Mary :)
I also wanted to share some of my other delicious body care items-
From the left- St. John's Wort Oil made by Amber. She still has some available on her new, super awesome site which you can visit here. The perfume which can be purchased here. Frankincense Salve made by Mary which I recently received in the mail and am loving and last but not least India Rose Facial Oil made by friend Maia that I use daily. I wish I could describe the smell because it's so good. It's kind of like an earthy, smokey forest.
What is your favorite perfume/scent? Any body care must have's I should know about? Please share!
I also want to say thank you to all those who visit my blog. I appreciate your presence here!
That's all for now :)
♥ anne
*Yes, this happened to me yesterday. After she hit my car door which caused me to get squished, she proceeded to not apologize and then basically accuse me for her mistake. I very colorfully told her to just go and leave me alone. Happy New Year!

What a package! Now, Im tempted to copy you! (I didn't find perfume under the tree, like I had hoped, but who's counting?)
ReplyDeletecopying is encouraged!
DeleteI'm glad you like the salve! Can you tell the tin was decorated by a five year old? Ha ha. And seriously, that perfume is the best. I've been too stuffy to smell anything, so when I put some on yesterday it was like smelling it for the first time. So. Good.
ReplyDeleteJeez, I'm sorry you got squished! I hope your tell off was VERY colorful. don't miss with my friend anne!
Also, I am loving your art flow, everything you make has this simple beauty, like there's spaciousness and vastness. Lovely.
Happy new year! Xoxo
Aww thanks Mary! Positive feedback is always nice to hear :)
DeleteIt was VERY colorful! I think you can imagine I'm capable of that ;)
happy new year, gorgeous mama!
ReplyDeleteand to you Sadie!
DeleteOpium is my favorite smell of all time. I clicked right over ready to part with some Christmas cash, but alas, sold out. Hope it gets in stock in time to be a Valentine's Day Present to myself.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a good Valentine's gift :)
DeleteOkay, i love that you and Mary smell the same and I got the same lovely scent from Mary so now sometimes we all smell the same. I felt so fancy, having perfumed salve. I'm curious to find out what you ladies smell like. Must find out in the new year ;)
ReplyDeleteit is fancy! :)
Deleteand you WILL find out what Mary and I smell like this year! hehehe
Hi there!
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog, and enjoying reading through it. Like Rachel above, I too went to Sweet Tea hoping to get some dharma bum (actually the dead writers sampler looks great) but am sorry to see it all sold out. Hopefully when they reopen tomorrow they will be restocked.
You ask about favorite scents and body care must haves...well I am a patchouli lover. I've worn it for over 20 years, mixing it up with rose and a cedar/fir oil combo every now and again, but mainly patchouli. As for body care must haves, I am using a couple of new products which I am loving. They are from element botanicals, and are called potion facial elixer, and eye to eye antioxidant renewal serum. The company is fairly local to where I live which I love, and they smell amazing.

Wow, I can't believe that lady hit your door, squished you, and had the nerve to not even apologize. Parking lots do not tend to bring out the best in most people unfortunately. Well done for being colourful in your response.
Cheers to a great new year!
Welcome! Its nice to have a new reader!
DeleteThanks for the link! I'll check it out, sounds like good products. I love patchouli too :)
Ha, ha! I'm sorry, but I just find it hilarious trying to picture you telling anyone to "just go and leave me alone," (the not-nice way, that is) because you seem like the nicest, calmest, most composed person. :) Sometimes rude people need a little blast, don't they?
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I love every single thing you're making these days.
Thank you Lauren!
DeleteI think mary said it best when she met me for the first time, she said something like- a cup full of sunshine with a dash of cayenne :) she went easy on me ;)
I just wanted to thank you for posting about the Dharma Bum cologne. Oh. My. Goodness. It is the best smell I've ever smelled (perfume wise). I am so picky about scents but when I put this on, I kept obsessively sniffing my arm and my husband kept giving me weird looks until I made him smell it and then he understood!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so happy to hear this!
DeleteThanks for this post. It's rare to see someone posting such a long article on blogs these days- most people just write a few sentences and point a link somewhere else. This is original for once.
