are you here for an affair?

 fall style inspiration for me equals one movie, the graduate. it always has and i know i have posted about it every year so why break tradition? here goes yet another katherine ross / the graduate post.

this movie never gets old to me. from the music to the wardrobe and make up, the hair, the cinematography... it's all perfect. after watching it again last night, i was pining for some skinny jeans, loose pullover sweaters, boots, a raincoat, oversized barrettes, big hair and false eyelashes. i have the false lashes and the boots but what i really want is a jacket like the one in the horrible movie still i took above. so, if i suddenly start trying to morph into elaine robinson, you'll know why ;D

i'm excited for summer. road trips, camping, outdoors, floating in water, friends, family, summer dresses, good music, yummy food and some delicious beers. always have to have some of those ;D

alabama getaway

yesterday, while out thrifting for my shop, i came across a hawaiian shirt that reminded me of the one christian slater wears in true romance. i got to thinking about hawaiian shirts and how it's been a while since they were popular, so i bought it. ruben and i have always had so much fun trying to predict the next big trend. i think they'll be "in" real soon.

and if i'm talking about true romance, i can't fail to mention alabama and her rad style. how adorable is patricia arquette?!! i love her and her wardrobe in this movie.
what do think the next big trend will be? tell me your predictions!

please tell me it's a bad idea...

to make another quilt.

making a quilt is kind of like going on a long, strenuous hike. it sounds like a great idea at first, then you get going and half way through you wonder why you EVER started, you finally finish and thankfully feel a sense of accomplishment. time goes by and your aging memory forgets the pain and mental anguish. then your back at square one, starting the whole process over again. so, please tell me that it's a bad idea because i'm feeling like i want to start another quilt.

if i do indeed begin again, i'm thinking i'll do solid colors in a chevron pattern. i'm leaning toward black and mustard. my last two were made with vintage florals so a basic design and color scheme sounds nice.

cuttin' bangs

i'm dying to change my hair... call it the post baby hair blues. i would never chop it all off like so many new mothers do, but i would definitely cut my bangs. and probably will today.
