My three oldest have flown back to school. I now have a 10th and 7th grader and little Kindergartener which leaves me, Marianne and Margaret home alone for a few hours every day.
I know many people are sad summer is over but I happen to be quite thrilled about it! I feel the need for a set schedule and am happy to embrace a new season. Having the kids at school will also give me more time to update my etsy shop and make more macrame.
For some reason I find I am more creative in Fall and Winter and right now I am excited to have new ideas brewing!
Aren't these bird watercolors beautiful?! I found this book in the free bin at the library and had to take it.
It's still pretty warm here but I'll occasionally get that feeling of autumn in the air.
How do you feel about Fall? What are your favorite activities, meals and music this time of year?

I love fall and am craving it more than ever this year, well except maybe last year...and it never really came :( So I'm totally counting on some nice cool, crisp, rainy, brooding, pumpkin carving, lantern lighting, bewitching days this year!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the kids back in school. I didn't get a chance to comment but I love your new macrame projects, particularly the fiber art one, gorgeous, unique and creative.
These bird prints are indeed gorgeous, lucky find. I really want to learn to identify birds. My girls are super into them, mostly bluejays, woodpeckers, quail, turkeys, and hawks around here.
I feel pretty sad summer is over... I worked most of it away so it feels like it was barely here for me. That and my next few months are so uncertain that thinking about it frightens the bejesus out of me. Changing seasons always make me feel time like a tangible thing though, something that slipped through my fingers. I'll feel better about all this once my life uncertainties are finally all straightened out best they can be. On that note, I am looking forward to Pumpkin Ales being in liquor stores so I can make some pumpkin ale cheese soup!
ReplyDeleteI'm always sad to see summer go. I do love it so. But I must say I'm really a 4 season kind of gal. There are things I enjoy about every season. It's especially easy to appreciate them all in my part of the country (Western NY). Every fall we love to go apple picking, plan out and make Halloween costumes, get some hikes in and make it to Letchworth State Park for the beautiful foliage. Also I'm kind of obsessed with Southern Tier Brewery's Pumking which is only around for the fall.
ReplyDeleteHello, from Mongolia! I linked to your blog via Posie Gets Cozy and LOVE this bird book you found! I wonder if you might jot down the title, author, publisher, etc. so that I might do a search for it, used? The pictures are so beautiful....
ReplyDeleteThanks so much....warm greetings from afar,
Lisa, an American in Mongolia (smile)
