a sweet surprise

Yesterday, while browsing through The Salvation Army, I came upon this most lovely framed print. I picked it up, admired it, then set it down and kept walking. A few minutes later I was still thinking about it, so I went over and grabbed it and put it in my cart. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but I just couldn't leave without it.

When I got home, I decided to take it out of it's ugly frame and look at it closer. When I opened the back, I saw this-

I felt like I had won a free prize! But it gets better. I assumed the original picture was on some sort of cheap paper, but to my surprise it's an actual photograph! This made me adore it even more.

I want to live this scene out. Everything is perfect! The girls, the clothes, the hats, the bike, the country lane...

So, do you think it's as lovely, dainty and feminine as I do?

At this point I'm not certain what I'm going to do with it. I'm not sure it's something my hubby would dig for our home, so I'm thinking of selling it. BUT, I do love it so! AAHHHH! The hard decisions we face in life.

  8. Great find! Such a lovely vintage treasure! First i would see if there's a chance to put it somewhere nice at home and if your hubby really doesn't like it at all, you can still sell it. It's too unique to let go of it so easily :)

  12. Looks like you've struck gold- the composition and the aging is perfect. I'd keep it if I were you, maybe put it somewhere your man won't instantaneously groan upon seeing it. It really is too lovely to throw away:)

  16. Oh, this is so gorgeous and enchanting! And I love the little illustration too! Do you have a little studio-area in your house you could possibly hang it? A place all your own? It's such a shame to give up that magical find!

  17. That picture is awesome. I would have grabbed that one. I usually do the three loves test: You must love, love, love it. If so, then buy it. If not, leave it behind.

  18. BTW. Your Etsy shop is fabulous. Great finds. You price your items too low. Increase the price and keep on marketing through BLOGGING, and Twittering and every avenue in cyperspace possible. Good Luck. (Some day I hope to make the switch to Etsy. eBay fees are really hurting.)
