sixties prints

dress, jacket, heels, belt-thrifted/wrap-my mom's

I always love the bold 60's prints, but often have a hard time incorporating them into my outfits. I bought this dress a long time ago and never wear it because of... well, the print. Yesterday I was in the mood for something a little brighter. So, I went digging through my drawer and found it, to see if I could make it work. It was a long dress when I bought it, but I cut the top part off. So, what is now the dress, was originally the skirt part. Definitely not an everyday look for me, but it was fun to wear something different.

This is the best shot I got of the print.

Just having fun with this one.
Do you have any clothes that you like, but I have a hard time wearing? What are your solutions?

  4. Yes, but I usually just wait for the day when it feels right and then something comes together. I love the colors in the skirt and the print.

  5. Groovy Baby!!!

I've got a vintage skirt with the tiniest waist ever but is flowy at the bottom! I have to wear it soooo high that I just never get around to doing it- actually... I should check again since I lost a little weight since I got it!

    Thanks Anne!

  7. I love the print. I have a lot of things that are pretty but really inconvenient here in the country, plus I feel constantly over dressed...

  8. I love this print on you! I feel a little intimidated by '60s prints too, even though they're so fun to look at. I think you really pull them off!

  11. I love the colors and it looks like spring or summer there! So warm looking. Clothes that I have problems wearing I tend to not wear: I hang them instead of pictures on my walls.

  14. Gorgeous wrap! I adore it! I love blazers but I can't wear them -- I look terrible in them for some reason. My solution is to let my sister wear them for me :)

  15. Lovely colors, and I think the jean jacket is a good call when something feels a bit too much, whether it's just too dressy or has a loud print. I'm the same way and my lil' jean jacket is my go to piece for toning things down or making them feel more casual.

vintage prints can be tricky but paired with the denim and brown it looks good.
