Finding out about his death, has been a reminder to remember to appreciate the visionaries, the magic makers in music. Listened a ton of his music last night, as well as Bjork, Kate Bush, The Pixies, artists who were influence by him, or benefited from his oddball, outside the box sensibilities. It's hard to believe he was only 69. His influence was so enormous. <3 Milla Bearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07862875429368066614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3702813992589008895.post-76134771646215536382016-01-11T20:00:40.110-08:002016-01-11T20:00:40.110-08:00Funny that for years I couldn't seem to find t...Funny that for years I couldn't seem to find the song, but was moved after mentioning it here to go and search. Lo and behold it is called "Glass Spider," (on the album Never Let Me Down, which is one of the first cassette tapes I ever owned,) and is just as hauntingly wonderful as I remembered. :)Cassiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17588052397864149916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3702813992589008895.post-36170954240667779342016-01-11T15:01:59.831-08:002016-01-11T15:01:59.831-08:00Wow! I love your musical memories, and how musically inclined you have been ever since early childhood. Have you noticed that trait in any of your own children? I love David Bowie every time I hear him but have never actively pursued his music. Sad to say I'll probably be doing that now. What a great influence and artist we were so lucky to have in this world.moonshinejunkyardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02401889178583608877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3702813992589008895.post-5335798757202134222016-01-11T09:08:49.583-08:002016-01-11T09:08:49.583-08:00Oh, and I meant to say that I was swooning right a...Oh, and I meant to say that I was swooning right along with you watching Labyrinth (one of my all-time favorite movies growing up)! On Saturday, I spent a full hour talking about and showing pictures of and listening to songs by David Bowie with my kids -- my youngest was fully rocking out to Changes. We obviously had no idea that he would die just hours after his 69th birthday; I had no idea it was even his birthday. The universe works in mysterious ways. Thanks for this post, Anne. What an amazing artist he was!Lauren Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07358496490976869347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3702813992589008895.post-20350883407996299052016-01-11T08:02:53.680-08:002016-01-11T08:02:53.680-08:00I was just saying this morning that I believe he w...I was just saying this morning that I believe he was my first crush as well.
