This is the first, of many to come, gypsy posts. Over the years, I have realized how many of my favorite songs talk about gypsies. I made a gypsy playlist, but instead of giving them all to you at once, I decided I'd break them up into posts of their own.

I do not believe in fortune telling in any way, but the whole idea of the "gypsy lifestyle" is very appealing to me. The music, house trucks and the fashion... I love it all!

Today I am in a funk! I thought perhaps wearing this lovely new dress would lift my spirits. I really liked it when I saw it, but after briefly putting it on for these photos, I'm REALLY loving it! Is it absolutely necessary to sell it? I'm on the fence at this point. What do you think?
Moving on to an item I have no choice in keeping, these adorable 1960s mary jane's. They too, are new to the shop. Why do my feet have to be so big?! It seems like with each child, they grow bigger. What's the deal? Anyway, if you are as fond of these as I am, please feel free to snatch them up.

I have been in love with these framed succulents for quite a while now. Seeing as how they are pretty costly, I'm going to attempt to make one myself. Mine will not be as grand as those pictured, but I think designing one (even if it's small) will be a lot of fun.

la brea tar pits

Yesterday we visited the La Brea Tar Pits. It is such an amazing place! We had a lot of fun and learned quite a bit about tar :D How cool is that last photo of the tar graffiti?! The whole wall is covered in names and drawings, so amazing! Afterward we finished our day with an early dinner at Canter's Deli...yum!

The weather has been so beautiful the last few days. I snapped this picture this morning. The hills were so green and lush and the sky so blue... I just wish it looked like this everyday.

Last week I re-visited a thrift store I had not been to in ages. This adorable jumper immediately caught my eye. I love everything about it! It's cute, comfy and it was super cheap! How cheap you may be wondering? Try $1.75! They were having a big ole sale and I scored big time. Woohoo!!!

Moving on to the really exciting news, I am finally getting my CSA basket again! There's nothing like local, farm fresh, in season, organic produce. I also just received my shipment of grass-fed beef and pork. I love supporting farmers who care about their animals well-being and feeding them what they are made to eat. It's funny, I just watched Food Inc. last night, so my produce and meat could not have arrived at a better time. The film was great and I would highly recommend watching it. Since I'm on the subject of health and movies, I'd like to suggest a few more films- The Future of Food, The World According To Monsanto and The Hazards of Sugar. I never talk about food or health on my blog, which is strange considering how passionate I am about both. It definitely is a subject which fascinates me and one I think I may start talking about more. We'll see :D

I'm proud to present some of my newest finds! First on the list- my newly thrifted topsiders. When I was a freshman in high school, I saw this movie and had to have a pair. I'm so happy to have some in my possession again! Next is my vintage Levi's plaid shirt. I've been on the lookout for these lately (mostly for my husband) and have been scoring big time. And last but not least, my new gold cuff. Rebecca, over at The Clothes Horse, did a post a while back with big gold cuffs. I've been keeping my eye out for one since. I got mine for only $2.50! What a steal!

The cute jean skirt is currently for sale in my shop. I felt like the photos on the mannequin didn't do it justice. So, I thought I'd snap a few pictures in it so you could see how adorable it really is :D

Thank you for all the nice comments on my scarf post. I'm thinking about a tutorial ( per your request)...we'll see. I'm kinda nervous about trying one :O Anyone have any helpful tips?
